Bartender Update v2

INTRO

A few of you may remember this 'update' from the olden days of CSRP, and a few of you may not; some of you liked it, others didn't. However, since this is a whole new server with a mostly new community (and because some of you have forgotten), I'm re-posting it here!

To summarize this thread, this is a proposed update which gives the bartender job a lot more to work with. This thread is divided into three sections: Alcohol, Licenses, Updates. A small list of proposed updates will be listed at the bottom of the thread. So, without further ado, let's begin with...




ALCOHOL:

Everyone loves alcohol, right? And everyone loves to play video games, right? Well, why don't we mix the two and give you some more alcoholic drinks to choose from! As of right now, there is just one generic type of beer on the server. But I wish to change that. So I've come up with a list of drinks that would be cool to have in-game.

Each drink has a name a description, a price, and some side effects next to it. The name is the name of the beer, the description gives a basic idea for the drink, the price is the cost for a shipment of 10 bottles of that type of beer, and the side effects are the side effects (I can't simplify that much more).

BeerThe industry standard for alcoholic beverages $30Drink 3 - Slight motion blur
Drink 6 - Dizzy + Motion blur
Drink 9 - Pass out
Light BeerFor the not-so-heavy drinker$20Drink 3 - Nothing
Drink 6 - Slight motion blur
Drink 9 - Dizziness + Motion Blur
Drink 12 - Pass Out
Heavy BeerFor the true drinker in you$40Drink 3 - Dizziness + Motion Blur
Drink 6 - Pass out
Herbal AlcoholImported Chineese alcohol that smells of elderberries$60Drink 1-9 - Gain 5 hp per beer (Up to +45hp))
Drink 6 - Dizziness + Motion Blur
Drink 7-9 - Lose %10 accuracy per beer (Up to -%30)
Drink 10 - Pass out
Moon BeerImported straight from the Moon itself!$100Drink 1-5 - Jump height increased by %10 per beer (up to +%50)
Drink 6 - Dizziness + Motion Blur
Drink 7-9 - Become %10 slower per beer (Up to -%30)
Drink 10 - Die

Drink 6 - Paralyzed for 10 seconds

LICENSES:

As you may know, the unapproved selling of alcohol is strictly illegal (at least here in the States), unless of course you have a license. The same applies here. Bartenders will now need a special license to sell alcohol to the public legally, known as a beer license . This license will be a light brown color (to stay separate from the gun license) and can only be obtained by the mayor. If no mayor is present, a local CP officer may be able to help you. Licenses can be sold at whatever price the mayor feels fit to sell it, although it cannot exceed $100. After the purchase of a licence, the bartender gains access to every kind of beer.

If you lack the funds to purchase a licence of your own, you can always sell it illegally in a dark alley. But be aware - the police can arrest you if they catch you selling alcohol without a license. Without a beer license, the bartender cannot obtain beer unlocked by purchasing a licence. He/she can only sell Moonshine.




UPDATES:

This is a small list of changes I'd like to see to make the bartender a bit more important. Not all of this has to be implemented, but I'd like to see most of it make it.

  • Only the bartender can sell alcoholic beverages.
  • The mayor can not sell gun licenses for any more that $200.
  • Shipments can only be accessed by the buyer, but using a lockpick on it can break it.

+1 because it was fun on CSRP, yet the different kinds of beer weren't added, only the norm, still very fun to RP getting drunk.

would be nice if it had the 'drunken' effect from gmodtower for some beers

(character basicly strafes left to right al the time,distance depending on amount of beers)

Because a simple suggestion like, "make teh bartendur moar 1337 pl0x" would have been a waste of time for both me and anyone who read that. I prefer to iron out as many of the details as I can so I can eliminate any issues that come up.

Also, thanks for the awesome feedback you guys! I may just consider doing something like this for a few other jobs as well.

Maybe if people could name their drinks so it doesnt always have to be moonshine or moon beer?

sometimes teletric.. bartenders gives special drinks = names

but in garrys mod.. it have to stay on the name it gives out

The bare bones of the licenses is actually done and working on various past copies of darkrp on my pc.
Issue currently is I have no items to add to the each "license" its suprisinly easy to handle though.

Alchol I'll look into updating alchol to have effects sometime but theres a few other bits I want to do first (printer batteries, part of that "update" will hopefuly appear soon)

Naming ur stuff is very possible, though not sure how "expensive" it would be network traffic wise. How woudl you view the name of the item?
