New job

Post by Daniel on Tue Oct 09, 2012 2:33 am

Suggested this on CSRP and had really positive feedback, would like to see this on HGRP.

New VIP Job - Construction Worker - Well, I've seen Ron use /job for this before, however it is a really useful job and I would more than likely use it myself. My thinking is that with this job is also granted with the easy precision tool.

Pro's -
Adds much more of a variety to the job's
Easy precision tool is added for VIP's whom are this job. (May also get more people to donate)

Con's -
You can use /job for this feature, however the Pro's may cancel this one Con out.

+1 from me but the only problem is that if you are a vip whats stopping you from making a huge base as a gangster unless there is a rule implemented against it
also if you could make easy precision a tool for only that job like you stated in the pros then there would be little to no problems

+1 aslong as it doesnt take toolgun or physgun away from everyone else, been on servers with that before and what ends up happening is nobody builds.

Also, some people cannot build well. I constantly saw people asking admins for help building on CSRP. So this job is really helpful, and would be used alot I can imagine.

Issue is about restricting toolgun and physgun. In the past when me and ted were wandering looking for a home we'd come across reasonable servers with such restrictions. We'd usually leave pretty fast since 1 of the main things for us is being able to add little touches to our shop/lair/hut/flat/cell

I'd hate to see the restriction of toolguns and physguns. However, it was the easy precision tool that was restricted in CSRP due to its ability of crashing the server.

Hopefully we won't get as many idiots who like crashing the server for no reason this time round. :S

Suggestion:

Make the job "Construction Worker" able to be used by everyone;
Remove the Construction Worker's easy precision tool;
Let the Construction Worker "give" his props to other people;
Construction Worker's salary would be 40$, or whatever the Citizen's salary is.

RESULT:

Construction Worker is now able to build bases for other people, either for fun or for money.
I would use this, and would love it.

Second Suggestion:

Make a job called "Specialized Construction Worker";
Make him VIP-only;
Give Easy-Precision tool;
Also has a way to give his props to other players;
Specialized Construction Workers would have 60$ salary, or 20$ more than Citizen's.

RESULT:

While normal players can have a building job to build for others, VIP players have acess to a way better building tool, and maybe more extras up to either suggestions or the staff's decisions.

Third Suggestion(rules):

Builders are not allowed to steal from the house they are building in, has in:

-Printers and their money
-Drugs, or do anything with the pots and refineries
-Stuff that the contractor tells him not to touch

Builders are not allowed to tell anyone about the base's insides, or codes(maybe ban for telling the code(of course he would GIVE his objects to the other player, so he could change it himself));

Builders can build houses on the street(maybe, but not probable to be accepted).

To Kikbow

First suggestion: No. I think it should stay VIP only. The whole idea is to hopefully get more people to donate.I certainly wouldn't be paying random publics to build my place.

Second Suggestion: That was the original suggestion.

Third Suggestion: That should be implemented in the server rules.

For kik's third suggestion, i dont trust people enough to let them do that, no way of knowing if they steal from printers or not

Are mods allowed to have this to?
Ask Zeb or Tyler, I use Easy Precision every day. I have OCD and seeing something at 88 instead of 90 degrees pisses me right the fuck off.

Physgun-hold the prop;
Hold Shift and E;
DOOOOOOOOONE

P.S: Holding Shift and E makes you able to rotate a prop by 45ยบ degrees and fixes their angle to be exactly paralel to the world's X or Z axis, never really tried to get to know. Really it looks easier if you try it yourself, really usefull.
You can make props perfectly paralel to each other by using this.

Yeah that shift e thing is what ted and ron use when building (with easy weld) and honestly their dens and monestrys are my favorite builds on the server.

Wouldn't it be easier to just make easy precision for all VIPs so they don't have to be a certain job to use it, and then they can /job Builder if they want to be a builder?

I don't think a construction worker would be very popular unless there were people who really wanted to take rp'ing super seriously, most people would know how to build a base themselves or at least one person from the gang/mob would know how to. Also, whats so bad about easy precision tool? why can't everyone have it?

Considering you both have just asked the same questions which have already been answered. I will copy and paste what has already been said for you.

"Also, some people cannot build well. I constantly saw people asking admins for help building on CSRP. So this job is really helpful, and would be used alot I can imagine."

"Well, I've seen Ron use /job for this before, however it is a really useful job and I would more than likely use it myself. My thinking is that with this job is also granted with the easy precision tool. "

"it was the easy precision tool that was restricted in CSRP due to its ability of crashing the server. "

We could at least try this job, if it isn't too popular we could take it away?

Me n ted use "builder" sometimes. We find a person we wish to cause trouble to (ron) Then set up a "building site" outside the house. With forged documents etc. Then make scaffold up to his window, block off the area to witnesses and perform a raid.

We were gangsters in disguise
