RP Scenarios: Good idea? (read post first)
RP Suggestion: Scenarios
Now, I don't know who many people are opposed to "planned" roleplay scenes, so I thought I'd get your opinion.
Basically, the orgainsation would work in two ways.
1.) Forums: If someone has a cool rp scenario they'd like to act out, then post it in the forums, maybe I could make a thread for it. If people like it, then we organize who will play what role, and if it should be "Open" (include a player or two not involved in the planning).
2.) Steam: This would be more spontaneous, but involves more synchronisation. Say, someone wants to plan a long scene, they could get in contact with say, a member of staff or a regular, and plan out how it'd work. From there, more people might be included, and details can be written up in a group chat.
Personally, I'm more in favour of forum side organising, as it lets people know what's going on.
You might think that every step of the situations would be layed out, the mission, objectives, success, etc, but people's ability to react to situations is what makes rp fun, so someone might choose to behave in a certain way that changes the outcome of the scenario.
I like the idea of "quests". They have a layout that is easy to follow, fun to play out, and has various results.
Step 1: Vendor/Quest setter hires person(s) for a task, informs them what must be done, sends them on their way, equipped with the info or "quest" items necessary to complete the task.
Step 2: Player arrives at wherever they need to be, and interacts with the people there (in on the job) to do whatever needs to be done.
Step 3: After informing whoever is concerned of the completed task, another objective may be laid out, or told to come back for the reward. This is where it gets interesting. Depending on how they handled the situation, a different outcome may play out. For example, if the player reveals too much info, they might put the employer at risk, or if they have been reckless, might get chased, shot at, kidnapped, whatever, it depends on the scenario.
Step 4: Evaluation/debriefing, where the actions of each person are weighed up, and the final outcome is determined. This gives a meaning to the actions of the people involved.
Word of advice, stick to the plot of the decided scenario, but feel free to use improv, react who your character would react to make it interesting, and open avenues for more roleplay where you can.
This may be a little hard to follow, so let me know about what you guys think, and post improvements, I'd love to see this work.
Also, please note that this would take a lot of communication to get right, so adding people on steam who are involved would be a good idea.

Re: RP Suggestion: Scenarios
Eh- I personally think that if the roleplayers involved are skilled enough, you can do it on the spot;
but this would be good to teach everyone rp.
+1
However, have to think about how easily it can be ruined.
As such; I think this is a good idea, but think that it should be primarily done ingame. Just my opinion.
