Radio Host

So anyway, a couple of servers i had been on a while back had a job called Radio Host. People could buy radios in entities for about £100, and whenever they were in the radius of the radio they would hear the song picked by the Radio Host. The radio host copied URL links from youtube videos and paste them onto a menu, and the audio would play through the radio. I liked this job a lot, and i think its cool having music playing when you walk into a store or in the backround while you are building.

i dont judge so much about your idea...

What i like about that job is :
1. you can listen to music and that stuff from the radio
2. It is perfect to have radio in your shop
3. people may use it to tell ingame news


What i hate that job is:

1. people abuse the job by being stupid on radio
2. Playing same song 6x in a row (omg i hate Gangnam)
3. running around the streets and playing on the player microphone and not the Job microphone ( placed inside a studio)
4. people buy radio and leave it by the streets...
(looks like a mess)

I like the idea, Host goofs up / plays same song = Demote so that is easily dealt with, and as long as you have to be tuned in to hear the radio then there will be no spam so sounds good.

Good idea, but if this is implimented, could you add a radio volume adjuster? I was on a server long ago that only had two volumes: 100% and 0%, and it was really annoying...

I like it but, won't it lag?

I've seen seething simlar done with this job, but instead of songs, the person would act like a reporter, and would talk about what is going on in town. At one server, a person interviewed me as a mayor, which was interesting. If we could get both of those features, I can see it as a good class
Side note: maybe make it a VIP job?

Most players will preffer to just listen to music they like, by themselves, in their own browser.

Also gives the option for radio adverts.

Also, radio adverts sound interesting

+1 from me if you can toggle the volume because on servers with radios you can hardly hear anthing because of the radios

The "listening range" shouldnt be wide and the volume shouldnt be too loud, else i dont mind it

Just had the idea also that the radio host could make money by allowing people to pay for requests, or they could have a store selling radios. Or both.

This is a good idea, and if you play a song, it takes 5 dollars or something.

Maybye only shopkeepers/street sellers can sell them, and also have a limit of one to stop people leaving them in the streets. I was in a server before and nowhere was quiet because the radios were in the streets and had a very wide range.

See how far this idea has developed? Keep all these ideas flooding in guys, this should be very unique and custom to HGRP if added.

Also, we should add restrictions to this class. A really annoying kid could piss an entire server off with this class

yes i agree about setting restrictions someone that posted earlier said make it vip i think, anyway this would be a good idea to stop kids blasting the new justin bieber songs down these radios hidden around the streets

I gotta admit the streaming for it might not be so great. Eg on csrp when u typed !motd you got some lag from the page loading. Thats from it loading html. You're proposing streaming from online so wed get same issue.
