News Reporter

title says it all, i have on my server a news reporter which uses the RT camera to publish news around the city, there is a spawnable to that will show anything that is in the view of the camera, the people loved it and i can link you to anything you need and even send you the part in she Shared.lua if you need, its quick and easy to do but my preference is to make it with a vote and RT camera only for the news reporter, thanks

Would be great to do, and maybe might improve RP around some of the players.
Would love it if it works for rp, but if it ends up with people just recording mass pornos (Which I know will happen) then I'm sure it will be removed due to actually disrupting RP.
In your experience, has it helped encourage RP?

yes its helped a lot, people love seeing their face allover the city, i can show you the tv aswell, every person went for the job and they interviewed people, would highlight events ETC it encouraged quite a lot of people to roleplay

Seems like a good idea. News reporter. Although what time will it be on? Like BBC Or ITV News? And how bout Weather and sports? Looks like a great idea overall.

Meh, depends. Spawn a camera and everyone'll gather around it so they can be seen. Have a player that is essentially a walking camera and you'll get everyone following them doing some fag dance (Harlem shake).
Also, it'd need to be rp'd well, not just used to get into the PD etc.
As much as I'd love for it to be introduced, the server's rp isn't quite at this level yet.

Other than that, I think that the news reporter job sounds like a great idea, don't think people will be doing porn with it really. Most mingebags propminge or go cop to RDA or RDM people. If it's going to be RT camera that is used for this will it also give a purpose to the RT TV screen found in the css folder, making it a nice addition to an appartment home or whatever.

There is a TV in the CSS office folder which shows the RT screen

Why on earth would garry remove it?

EDIT: ah now I see, it was back when PHX mod (the builder section of the Q menu props) was an addon you had to download In that pack it included the plasma TV from css as an RT screen and every server had PHX installed, so yea.. Just me not having played too much garrysmod after PHX being an official part of the game.

Alright so he moved it from the css section, but if you search for "rt_screen" in the prop menu it will come up ^^

noo you have to go to browse - all - props_phx2 and its there

? Searching works fine for me in singleplayer. Should in theory work in the server too..

ill find the name for it and post it the tv is saved on my first props tab
