It is transport that travels over ground and carries people around the map

A job should also be added called the conductor, who drives the train. The train can only be moved forward, and it just follows the tracks as it moves. The conductor can press space to stop the train.

There comes a risk with this, mobs and the cartel can seize control from the conductor and drive the train themselves, and hold the entire train hostage, and as a moving target, the cops would actually have to use strategy to stop the train (something almost all of the cops don't do)

Jumping off a train at medium speed will get you hurt bad (Standard Gmod Physics) and you do not need to implement any scripts as it is already part of the standard physics. If you jump off at low speed, however, you won't take much damage

Hitmen can also use this as an opportunity to kill multiple targets by telling them to go to the train, plant C4, and run out of the train (they also don't lose much health because the train is at low speed!) and by the time the contracts jump out, they will lose a ton of health and the hitman can kill them easily.

Of course, the conductor can hire a guard to protect the train. This way it is less likely that criminals will take over the train or Hitmen planting C4s.

Hobos can also climb aboard the train and ask the passengers for money or annoy them until they do.

You see, there are many ways trains can contribute to RP and you should definitely add them.

nice idea, but i dont think many people will take that train because most rp_maps are not that big (rp_evocity not included)

thus going on foot and making the train less usefull

im no good with sdk and all but i would think its kinda hard to make
( damage depending on speed, what if the conductor is killed?, how can the cops stop a moving prop?)

Exactly. They have to use a strategic plan to do it.
And damage depending on speed is already in Garry's mod. Haven't you rode a car really fast and jumped out and it depletes more than half of your health?

Also I was the one stating that you could use the train to hold people and plant C4 on it

Oh and standard gmod physics doesn't make you lose more health for going faster horizontally. Also, fall damage is always 10 HP

I don't know about you but I'm fairly sure most of the server doesn't want to wait months (or more likely a year) for ted (on his own) to make a country for roleplaying in (assuming you want more than 2 stops, each stop being a city) which leads to price for running the server to rise as 30 people won't fill 2-3+ cities which means ted (assuming he still pays for the server) has to pay even more money to keep up the server, and then that gives way to more problems like bigger map = bigger download = lower amount of players on the server which means after we stop getting donations very few people will join the server and actually give some money too poor old ted who will, at this point be living on the street (sorry but spending months-years on coding a map was a bad choice for future you...heed my warning, keep the map as a town) with no home no job and no legs ( he loses them to a loan shark in late 2013/14). I'm getting off track so will stop there
