Which Map?
So we have tested a few maps over the past few days and I wanted some feedback, so this thread is all about that.
Post your thoughts here and don't forget to vote for your favourite map or to continue testing.

Re: Which Map?
I enjoy all 3 of the maps, but....
Downtown is just too small for my liking's and, I've become quite tired of it.
Bangclaw is an alright map, huge sewers, lots of places to live etc...
Townsend is also an alright map in my opinion as it's quite detailed, has tesco in it, and good places for jobs like shop keepers or gun dealer / bmd and bankers. But on the downside it's just too large without cars and the train is buggy as shit.
So I voted lets test more maps...

I Love All 3 Of The Maps, But They All Have There Down Sides. Downtown Is Just Too Small, And Everyone's Tired Of it, Townsend's Too Large Without Cars, And The Train Is SO Glitchy. Bangclaw, Has Quite Few Lag Points, And People Dont Like Them. I Think There's Some Opportune Maps Out There, So I Voted test more. Maybe We'll Find Something Everyone Likes?

Re: Which Map?
I reckon we should give a HL2 rp map a go.
We're a semi serious Hl2 rp server, according to the name when i connect.
As such; I think we should try some of those maps which show life how it really was in HL.
RP_city45 I think is alright. Maybe check it out in SP Ron?
I was talking to ted about the whole Hl2rp map thing, and we both like them, he just thinks that some people will complain if we use them, and neither of us can think of why. ;P

Tried v4c on other servers, not enjoyed it, personally.
I'd like to try another version of downtown, but smaller, with more buildings and stuff.
Here are a few examples of what I was thinking:

(Some night versions too, look pretty cool, unsure about lag)

Personally, i find that night laggs less;
Idk why, but i seem to run really smooth at night time; plus it looks awesome.

Re: Which Map?
Hl2 maps are great, I'd recommend either;
1. C18
Nice overall, decent sized slums (For hobos/Gangs)
Nice Nexus (or police department)
No slums, and only 3 shops.
2. C8
Nice Nexus & Medbay.
Nice streets/alleyway.
Good sewers (complete with secret passage)
3. C45
Nice Nexus.
Nice apartments/Streets
The best sewers (and, for that matter secret passages).
Just throwing some ideas out there for different Hl2 maps.

I prefer City8 to City45 since city 8 is smaller and more compact.
Re: Which Map?
I can't get on the server with the City 45 map atm, even on lowest settings, I time out every time.

Re: Which Map?
Townsend is broken for me, I can't join, downtown is boring, bangclaw for some reason breaks rp, downtown v4 is just stupid imo, I think we should go for a hl2 map, possible one that's not completely depressing, and possibly a daytime one.
I have a bunch of RP maps in my gmod folder, I will post them here later.

Re: Which Map?
Ok some Maps that may work:
rp_warun a2 - distinct PD. Lots of back alleys, very enjoyble - interesting chases, and abush places etc
rp_industrial17_beta3 - Bigger than downtown, lots of alleys, overhead things but keep colourmod off otherwise place will be terribly dark
City85 final - Small mapish - big buildings, not sure about this one
Rp_amsterville - may work interesting arrangements of buildings and things, just not sure about spawn

Re: Which Map?
I've never heard of any of those maps, we have to take into account if people will actually spend time to do these maps
New players are something we kinda need now

rp_city45_2013 is broken for me. GMod crashes when I try to join the server.

You might wanna lower some of your settings, make sure there's not loads of CPU used up by other processes when joining. Also, try to join another day, the problem might not be there tomorrow.

Re: Which Map?
City45 is terrible imo. There a button in some place that announces tha all citizens must go and collect rations. I can see this being used for good RP, and being abused on a major scale. I want Teds own but in the meantime bangclaw. It was good when people actually RP'd

Re: Which Map?
Mmhm;
Have put a rp guide on here;
And eh... Might be tempted to put a fear-rp guide
That's right; a full post; dedicated to fear-rp; That is, if I see too much more of it.

Re: Which Map?
I like the current map, just block off the ration area
Also please try out the map rp_industrial_bet4 (its gone to 4 now).

More I play this map, the more and more I lag just by looking around
If we don't go to an old map, I say continue testing new maps
